After Jesus assured His disciples that he was no longer to be found among the dead, and after he had, for forty days, opened their minds to understanding the prophetic scriptures that described His sufferings and resurrection, at His ascension the angels, clothed in white raiment, addressed the disciples in these words:
The hope of the resurrection forms the basis of the faith of every true Christian. We know that faith is based on the resurrection of Jesus from the dead which is recorded unanimously by the gospels and presented as a trustworthy fact.
In our study of the Word, we are to be governed by principles. We are going to use these principles to discover who the King of the North is.
In the Bible, we find the word “today” mentioned in many cases that have been of great importance to the sinner who so much needs salvation and freedom from sin.
The faith of the early church rested on the solid truth that Christ died for the sins of the world and he was buried and rose on the third day according to the Scriptures. Paul tells us:
“And the LORD said unto Noah, Come thou and all thy house into the ark; for thee have I seen righteous before me in this generation… For yet seven days, and I will cause it to rain upon the earth forty days and forty nights; and every living substance that I have made will I destroy from off the face of the earth.” Gen. 7:1-4.
When we read about the first week of Creation in Genesis 1, we see seven literal days of Creation.
The aim of this study is for us to learn where we are in time. Jesus compares the nearing of His coming with the leaves of the trees shooting off, which shows that the summer is near. In the same way, Jesus informed us that there is a period when we can expect His coming.
The truth will emerge before Christ comes because the 144,000 have no guile in their mouths. They are going to be speaking pure truth and truth only.
