He Is Seeking for You

He Is Seeking For You
Among the many tragic cases in life, I remember a special one that I cannot forget. It seems as if the tears of the mother are still before me. Out of a few very kind children the family had, one was a very humble boy. In his teens, he gathered with bad comrades and he followed in their way. By his wrong behavior and criminal acts, he caused the early death of his father. The mother, as a widow, was giving anything for him. He was wandering and missing from home for many nights and weeks. He squandered everything his mother had… I was wondering, as I watched her, how she could think and weep for him whole nights. “Oh, where is my son!?”, she often said in sadness.
I was more amazed how she could think about him and be ready to give more and even divide her morsel of bread with him… Her tears spoke to my conscience. I thought: how much a mother can love! How dear is the child to his mother! Many times I said to myself: Such a son does not deserve the sacrifices and love of his mother! Yet the mother’s heart was searching for him and thinking about him!
I ask myself: Who has put this wonderful love in the heart of a true mother? And He, who has put such a love in mankind, what a love must He have himself!?
On one occasion, Jesus told a parable:
“What man of you, having an hundred sheep, if he lose one of them, doth not leave the ninety and nine in the wilderness, and go after that which is lost, until he find it? And when he hath found it, he layeth it on his shoulders, rejoicing. And when he cometh home, he calleth together his friends and neighbours, saying unto them, Rejoice with me; for I have found my sheep which was lost. I say unto you, that likewise joy shall be in heaven over one sinner that repenteth, more than over ninety and nine just persons, which need no repentance.” Luke 15:4-7.
On another occasion, He tells us:
“I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd giveth his life for the sheep.” “I am come that they might have life…” John 10:11, 10.
Jesus also tells us:
“For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost.” Luke 19:10.
Where did he come from?
“I came forth from the Father, and am come into the world: again, I leave the world, and go to the Father.” John 16:28.
And the apostle explains:
“Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men: And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.” Phil. 2:6-8.
Dear reader, what significance does this have on you and me!? Him through whom were created all things (Col. 1:16), do you know that he is the same who puts love in the mother’s heart? And what love does he have!?
In the time appointed, he divested himself of the heavenly glory, left Heaven and came, clothed in human nature, to seek and save that “lost sheep” – sinful man. Do you know how much he loves you, as he has given his life on the cross for you? He has taken your place and my place as he has died in our stead. Thus he endured that which we had to endure.
“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” John 3:16.
This heavenly love we have forgotten about a long time ago and we put little value on it, like the ungrateful son mentioned above! We may see it here and there, manifested in some mother, father, or friend.
You may feel (if not, the time will come and you will get convinced) that this world day by day gets colder and more cruel. Sympathy, compassion, and kind words, motivated by sincere love, are seldom met today. Feeling the rudeness and cruelty of life, someday you will sense a need for true compassion and love which would warm your heart. You will feel lonely in the world, maybe even fall into despair. Then remember these words of a friend: There is One who still loves you and is seeking for you. He desires to encourage you and help you. He can understand you fully. He loves you so much that he gave his life for you!
Do you know, friend, that he is searching for you and he loves you more than a mother can love? He only waits for you to feel your need of him and to seek for him.
With his pierced hands, He is knocking on your heart’s door and saying with pleading tones:
“Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.” Rev. 3:20.
Through different events and trials, he is knocking at your conscience and he is inviting you… He is searching for you because you are dear to his heart. So dear, that he has paid the ransom for you with his blood… He cannot forget you, you are exceedingly dear to him!
“Can a woman forget her sucking child, that she should not have compassion on the son of her womb? yea, they may forget, yet will I not forget thee. Behold, I have graven thee upon the palms of my hands; thy walls are continually before me.” Isa. 49:15, 16.
Who is he that has written you on the palms of his hands? He whose hands and feet were pierced at the cross! You know Him – Jesus!
He is seeking you… As the mother is seeking for her wayward son!
Seek him with faith and prayer before it is too late!
